Capitalism is bloodsport and surviving what Uncle Hank called “The America” is hardly a victory for our quality of life. Ask ya, if we don’t make it–well, whose fault is that? Whether we are just a nation of temporarily “embarrassed millionaires,” if it’s the failure of compassion or a 40-year cashout of the American dream, should we assume the liabilities of society but reap none of its gains?
